Guernsey Cricket - Chief Operations Officer (COO)

Guernsey Cricket is looking to recruit a Chief Operations Officer (COO) to provide operational leadership to cricket on the Island. The role will work closely with the board and cricket staff to ensure that cricket on the Island is well resourced and effectively organised.

 

The ideal candidate will have strong financial management experience, excellent business administration skills and the ability to manage relationships with sponsors and other stakeholders.   The role will also interact directly with the International Cricket Council (ICC), ensuring Guernsey are financially compliant and its interests are actively represented.

 

This is an exciting time for local cricket with the women’s team recently securing an ICC ranking, the men’s team heading into the next round of the T20 World Cup qualifying process and growth in the number of  junior players in both boys and girls cricket.

  

Experience of cricket is not essential however an understanding of sport administration would be beneficial. Organisational skills, an eye for detail and excellent people skills are all key to the successful execution of the role.

 

Working at Guernsey Cricket

 

Guernsey Cricket is the body responsible for all cricket in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Guernsey became members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2008. Through its ICC membership it has competed in European and Global tournaments at 50 over and T20i level with current global rankings of 40 (women) and 36 (men). It overseas the development, participation and performance structures with a focus on equity and inclusivity. It has a strong community presence being based in the centre of the Island at KGV Playing Fields as well strong relationships across all schools and within the business community. 

 

We retain strong links to cricket in the UK with a number of players within junior county pathways or based at UK clubs, schools and universities.
