Cricket Development Manager

Guernsey Cricket is recruiting a Cricket Development Manager, who will play a vital role in leading the growth and accessibility of cricket in Guernsey. The role is focussed on ensuring all children have a positive first experience of cricket, whilst providing a supportive pathway in to a vibrant and well organised junior domestic cricket programme. The role will also develop wider community engagement with cricket across all ages and support the development of clubs on the Island. 

This is an exciting time for Guernsey Cricket and the successful candidate will find themselves leading on a number of key strategic priorities linked to the growth of the game across boys and girls cricket. These include;

  • Expanding the junior domestic playing programme.

  • Coordinating and supporting the development workforce.

  • Growth of the Women’s and Girls game, including the development of a domestic Women's and Girls playing programme

  • Working with the Pathway Manager to develop a girls representative junior programme.

  • Developing a programme of holiday provision.

  • Working with key stakeholders to develop the sustainability and effective functioning of clubs in the Island.

  • Developing a long-term strategic plan for equitable engagement with cricket across schools.

 

Working at Guernsey Cricket

 

Guernsey Cricket is the body responsible for all cricket in the Bailiwick of Guernsey. Guernsey became members of the International Cricket Council (ICC) in 2008. Through its ICC membership it has competed in European and Global tournaments at 50 over and T20i level with current global rankings of 40 (women) and 36 (men). It overseas the development, participation and performance structures with a focus on equity and inclusivity. It has a strong community presence being based in the centre of the Island at KGV Playing Fields as well strong relationships across all schools and within the business community. 

 

We retain strong links to cricket in the UK with a number of players within junior county pathways or based at UK clubs, schools and universities.

Guernsey Cricket - Student Placement (Cricket Development and Coaching)

Guernsey Cricket is looking for expressions of interest from potential placement students with an interest in exploring a career in coaching. The placement will form a part of Guernsey Cricket’s work in schools, representative pathway and our wider community work.

The placement would come with a maintenance grant of £10,000 and be based on full-time hours, term-time only. The placement would be for one academic year with the opportunity to gain additional earning opportunities during the holidays. You will also have the opportunity to gain additional industry relevant qualifications.
