Young Guernsey cricketer Annie Le Ray has been selected to join the Hampshire County Cricket Club Pathway, earning a place in their Development Squad.

This is a fantastic achievement and well-deserved recognition of Annie’s hard work, talent, and dedication to her cricket. Everyone at Guernsey Cricket is incredibly proud, and we look forward to following her continued progress as she takes this exciting next step in her journey.
The 16-year-old all-rounder has impressed coaches with her consistent performances and dedication, both locally and in off-island fixtures, marking her out as one of the brightest prospects in Guernsey women’s cricket.
Le Ray, who has represented Guernsey at various age levels, said she was “really excited and grateful for the opportunity.”
“It’s a fantastic chance to learn from top coaches and play alongside some very talented players,” she said. “I’ve had amazing support from everyone at Guernsey Cricket, and I can’t wait to see how far I can take my game.”
Jeremy Frith, Guernsey Cricket’s Director of Cricket, said Annie’s selection highlights the progress being made in developing the women’s and girls’ game on the island.
“Annie’s inclusion in the Hampshire pathway is richly deserved,” he said. “She’s a talented and committed young cricketer whose success will inspire other girls to follow in her footsteps. It’s also a reflection of the excellent coaching and support structures we’ve built within Guernsey Cricket.”
Guernsey Cricket Chief Operating Officer Richard Headington added:
“We’re immensely proud of Annie. Her attitude, work ethic, and passion for the game make her a brilliant role model for young players across Guernsey.”
Le Ray will join up with the Hampshire Development Squad later this month as she continues her progression towards higher-level county and regional cricket.
