Craig Hogan to continue Guernsey Cricket role with Ravenscroft Capital support

Guernsey Cricket is delighted to confirm that Australian high-performance coach Craig “Hoges” Hogan will continue his work with the island for a further two years, with his annual visits made possible through the continued support of Ravenscroft Capital.

The agreement provides important continuity for Guernsey Cricket's developing high-performance programme at an exciting time for the game, with increasing opportunities for young players and the Senior Men now preparing to continue their ICC Men's T20 World Cup qualifying journey in 2027.

Craig has spent time in Guernsey during each of the past three years and has become an increasingly important part of the island's cricket programme.

Working across different age groups, Craig has supported the development of both players and coaches, bringing considerable high-performance experience together with a strong emphasis on creating environments in which young cricketers can develop and fulfil their potential.

His work has been made possible through the support of Ravenscroft Capital, whose annual sponsorship enables Guernsey Cricket to bring Craig to the island each summer.

Developing the next generation

Craig's role extends across Guernsey Cricket's performance pathway rather than focusing solely on the senior game.

During the summer of 2026, he took on the role of Head Coach of the Guernsey U19 Men's team for the ICC U19 Men's Cricket World Cup Europe Division 2 Qualifier, which was hosted in Guernsey.

The tournament provided another opportunity for the island's leading young players to experience international cricket and work within a high-performance environment.

Craig's continued involvement over the next two years will allow Guernsey Cricket to build on that work, supporting players as they progress through age-group cricket and towards senior representative opportunities.

That pathway has taken on additional significance following confirmation that Guernsey's Senior Men will compete in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup Europe Qualifier in 2027.

Guernsey had initially believed its World Cup campaign had ended after narrowly losing to Jersey in the final of the Europe Sub-Regional Qualifier A in Cyprus in May. The side had previously won all four of its group matches.

Following a subsequent review of the European qualification pathway by the ICC, Guernsey has now been awarded a place in the next phase and will continue its journey towards the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2028 in Australia and New Zealand.

The opportunity further underlines the importance of developing a strong performance pathway capable of taking talented young Guernsey cricketers from junior and age-group cricket through to senior international representation.

For a small island, regular access to specialist high-performance coaching and expertise can be difficult to provide. Ravenscroft Capital’s investment allows Guernsey Cricket to bring that expertise directly to the island, where its impact can extend beyond individual teams to players and coaches throughout the pathway.

With the Senior Men now having another major ICC tournament to work towards in 2027, and young players continuing to progress through Guernsey's age-group programmes, Craig's continued involvement provides valuable experience, expertise and continuity.
