Guernsey Cricket is delighted to announce the return of the Specsavers Women's Super League, with the competition expanding this season to include a brand-new Social Division.

Following the success of the league's inaugural season, the expanded format aims to make cricket more accessible than ever before, offering women and girls of all ages and abilities the opportunity to get involved in a fun, welcoming and inclusive environment.
The new Social Division has been designed for those who may be new to cricket, returning to the game after time away, or simply looking for an enjoyable way to stay active and meet new people. Played using a softball format, no specialist equipment is required, removing many of the traditional barriers to participation.
The division is also ideal for workplace teams, groups of friends, families and players from other sports who would like to experience cricket in a relaxed and sociable setting.
Richard Headington, Chief Operating Officer of Guernsey Cricket, said:
"The success of last year's Women's Super League exceeded all expectations and clearly demonstrated the appetite for women's cricket on the island. By introducing a second, more social division, we are creating an opportunity for even more women and girls to take part, regardless of experience or background. This is about making cricket accessible, enjoyable and inclusive for everyone, whether you're a complete beginner, returning to the game, or simply looking to have fun with friends, family or colleagues."
Guernsey Cricket is encouraging corporate teams, friendship groups and families to enter, while also inviting players from sports such as netball, football, hockey and rugby to give cricket a try.
The Social Division will take place at the KGV Playing Fields on selected Friday evenings throughout the summer, creating a festival-style atmosphere where participation, enjoyment and community are at the heart of the experience.
Dame Mary Perkins of Specsavers said:
"We are incredibly proud to continue our support of the Women's Super League in Guernsey. The growth of the competition in just one year has been fantastic to see, and the introduction of a new social division is a brilliant way to open the game up to even more women and girls across the island. Supporting initiatives that promote participation, wellbeing and community is at the heart of what we do, and we are excited to see the league go from strength to strength."
Guernsey Cricket would like to thank Specsavers for their continued support as title sponsor. Their backing has played a significant role in the development of women's cricket locally and helped create new opportunities for participation across the island.
