Guernsey Cricket Celebrates Volunteers' Week with Jamie Nussbaumer and Marianne Le Ray

As part of Volunteers' Week 2026, Guernsey Cricket was proud to celebrate the incredible individuals who give their time, energy and expertise to support the game across the island.

Throughout the week, we highlighted the volunteering journeys of Jamie Nussbaumer and Marianne Le Ray through a series of video interviews, recognising their valuable contributions and thanking them for the role they play within the Guernsey Cricket community.

Volunteers are at the heart of everything we do. From coaches, scorers and umpires to team managers, administrators, event helpers and committee members, their commitment helps create opportunities for hundreds of players, officials, supporters and families to enjoy cricket throughout the year.

In their interviews, both Jamie and Marianne reflected on how they first became involved in volunteering, what motivates them to continue giving their time, and the many rewards that come from being part of the cricket family.

Their stories highlight many of the benefits of volunteering, including building friendships, developing new skills, giving back to the community and helping others enjoy the sport. They also serve as a reminder that volunteering is not only vital to the success of organisations such as Guernsey Cricket, but can also be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for those who get involved.

Guernsey Cricket is fortunate to be supported by a dedicated team of volunteers who contribute in many different ways throughout the season. Their efforts help ensure that cricket continues to grow and thrive across all age groups and levels of the game.

We would like to thank Jamie and Marianne for sharing their stories as part of Volunteers' Week, and extend our sincere appreciation to every volunteer who continues to support cricket in Guernsey.
