Blanchelande crowned as 2025 Kwik Cricket champions

Under blue skies and a *scorching* sun, Blanchelande sealed a deserved victory in the 2025 Boys Kwik Cricket Finals Day.

Fifteen Year 5/6 teams took part, each representing their school with pride, top effort and great sportsmanship, and the four hours of non-stop, fast action cricket produced plenty of big hitting, cartwheeling wickets and cracking catches.
After a round-robin group stage, Blanchelande and Hautes Capelles reached the final, with losing semi-finalists Beechwood 2 getting the better of Forest in the 3rd/4th place play off.

In a hard-fought final, Blanchelande (267) sealed a 34-run defeat of Hautes Capelles (233).

All the teams gathered in front of the KGV Clubhouse to cheer the winners as they received the shield from Katrina Bray of sponsors Titan Wealth.
Congratulations to the winners and a big thanks to all the teachers and schools for taking part and helping make the day a great success. We hope to see many of the players at future Guernsey Cricket activities.

As we did last summer, we have again teamed up with Tanya and the Eat Well Team from the Health Improvement Commission to provide some balanced and nutrious snack and lunch options for the participants in our Summer Cricket Camp.

Sandwiches with 50/50 brown/white flour contained chicken and sweetcorn or cheese and salad or tuna (no mayo!) and each lunch bag contained vegetable sticks and houmous. Crisps options were all the baked variety. There were also apples and bananas to fill the tummies.

To keep the kids going in the morning slices of watermelon were served and devoured !!
