These are exciting times for Guernsey cricket with the National squad being given T20 International status. Guernsey was proud to host the ICC T20 European Cricket World Cup qualifiers in the summer of 2019. The tournament was a huge success for the Island and was extremly well recieved by the ICC and the other visiting nations.
Guernsey continue to try and climb up the World rankings and currently sit 41st out of 85 countries (13/09/19).
The 2020 season will be another busy campaign for Guernsey with ICC T20 Division 2 European Cricket World Cup qualifiers at the start of the summer, T20I Inter Insular series as well as the annual 50 over Inter Insular.
As is the case with the mens team these are equally as exciting times for Guernsey Womens cricket with the National squad being given T20 International status. The women played in their first T20 International game in the 2019 season defeating Jersey in a one off T20 match. Philippa Stahelin lead the way with an unbeaten 56 from 52 balls in her player of the match perfromance, she was supporting by a superb opening spell of bowling by Katie Watson returning with impressive figures of 4 overs 2 for 15 and taking Guernsey's first ever International wicket.
The national side will now look to push on and enter the World rankings in the T20 season.
