Guernsey Ladies have a Great Start to the Summer

23 May 2017

With thecricket season, well underway Guernsey Ladies have been making a big impact. Withthe first women’s inter-club fixture on Saturday 13th May and with acouple of Ladies travelling to England last weekend to play for women’s teamthere have been lots of opportunities to get involved.

Guernseywomen’s cricket had the first inter-club competition which saw an 8 asidefixture Greens v Purples, this was a great fixture which allowed everyone toget involved, they played a slightly adapted format of the game which allowedeveryone to face 12 balls in a 16 over match. With it being such a success andseeing a couple of new faces, we have scheduled several more fixtures of thesame format.

Alice Davieshad her first match for Horsham CC against Brighton and Hove CC in a 45 overmatch. It was a big step up for Alice playing alongside some county cricketersand gave her a chance to experience a higher level of cricket.

Fran Bulpitand Colette Gooding both played for South Nutfield CC against Epsom CC,although they didn’t win. Fran had a good bowling performance keeping the runrate down her figures were 6 overs for 24 runs with a maiden over and Colettetop scored for the team.

GuernseyCricket are providing some great opportunities for Women and the aim is toincrease the numbers playing to enable us to have a women’s league in thefuture. If your keen to get involved contact – Colette@guernseycricket.com formore information.
