Young Cricketers

Need your help!

The number of young cricketers in Guernsey is

Growing rapidly

The quality of young cricketers in Guernsey is

Growing rapidly

Guernsey cricket is moving along

Rapidly

To maintain this momentum we need coaches to help deliver the     programmes set up by the Guernsey Cricket Board

An important aim of the Board is to establish several coaches attached to each of the GCA Clubs. The England and Wales Cricket Board, in conjunction with the European Cricket Council, is working hard to provide suitable opportunities for all prospective coaches. Please look at some of these `opportunities` and decide if one of the levels could suit YOU

(a)…..ECC / ECB Introduction to cricket

(b)…..Level 1 – coaching assistant

(c)…..Level 2 – Coach course

(d)…..Club coach

(e)…..Level 3 – Head coach

1…..Both the ECC and ECBCA `Introduction to cricket` courses are for volunteers/parents and provide a great opportunity to find a volunteer pathway within cricket clubs. The course, which lasts only 2-3 hours contains information on coaching, long term athlete development, umpiring, scoring and managing a team

2…..The UKCC Level 1 course focuses on the increasing technical information required to know `How` and `Why` to coach through additional resources. The course is held over 12 hours.

3…..After a successful Level 2 award coaches move not to the more challenging Level 2 as preparation for future development

4…..The NEW `Club Coach` award is aimed at those who wish to operate as a senior coach within a club environment and as a stepping stone to UKCC Level 3.
