Guernsey’s senior island cricket team will be very busy in 2009 and this could be one of the most important ever !

In April Guernsey will be playing warm-up games against a Sussex CCC Academy XI (that will include several 2ndXI players with First Class experience at Port Soif on Saturday 18th starting at 11:00.
NB - the Guernsey Academy XI will take on Sussex on Friday 17th same venue and time)
Staying in April Guernsey pop across to Jersey to play a couple of warn up games there as well on Saturday 25th and Sunday 26th.
These warm up games being needed to prepare us for Pepsi ICC World Cricket League 7 here in Guernsey from 17 to 24 May. Here we will play teams from Bahrain, Gibraltar, Japan, Nigeria and Suriname for the right to be promoted (top two) to Pepsi ICC World Cricket League 6 played in Singapore in August/September 2009. This is the first steps on a road that could lead to participation in the ICC World Cup in 2015 !!
In addition to the above there is the small matter of the Inter Insular on Saturday 8 August at KGV!!
As ever we are indebited to all at Barclays Wealth for their amazing support of the Senior XI, which will now also extend to the Under 19's who in July go to Jersey to take part in ICC Europe Division 1 being a qualifier for the U19 ICC World Cup.
We are shortly to take delivery of a new coloured kit for the WCL7 in May and you will be able to soon buy a replica version to ensure you are correctly kitted out at games. This will be resplendent with the Barclays Wealth logo!
