Barclays Player of the Month for June

GUERNSEY Bedding's Gerald Lee has been named June's Barclays Player of the Month.

Lee has contributed to a fine run by Guernsey Bedding who is currently at the top of division five in the Barclays Evening League.

The all-rounder hit a 198 runs in June with an average of 99 and top score of 76 not out, whilst bowling took six wickets.

Dave Sinclair, a manager at Barclays and a member of the GCA said: 'Gerald has made a significant contribution to Guernsey Bedding's great season which is what made him stand out for the Player of the Month award.'

Other notable candidates for the player of the month included Kevin Wakeham of Riva Irregulars B who took 8 wickets for 22 runs against Specsavers and Dan Slimm from Bodyline who scored 110 runs and took 10 wickets in June.

Lee was presented with a Barclays Player of the Month trophy and a bottle of champagne by James Blower Barclays Head Of Local Corporate Business.
