GCB U12 and U15 Development Leagues 2011

The GCB will once again be running a weekly League programme throughout the Spring Term to the end of June for our U12 and U15 players. The aim of the Leagues is to allow these age groups to play competitive cricket in an atmosphere that will prepare them for Evening League cricket in the near term when they join their Senior counterparts.

The League are run by the GCB Development Manager Jason Shambrook.

This season the GCB has enlisted the assistance of EL Clubs to run a team in the U15 League in the hope that this will foster stronger links between adult and junior cricket and assist the Clubs in securing their own futures with a new source of players. If successful the GCB will look to roll this out across the U12 set up as well.

The GCB is very grateful to PwC for continuing it's long term partnership with local cricket at the grass roots in supporting these Leagues.

TWO WEEKS TO GO!

League now finished and congratulations to Salemites who made a late charge and went from having the possibility of not making the top four semi-finals of the play-offs to winning the league all in one evening!

I must have picked fairly equal teams as Jazz Hats finished seventh and won 2 of their 7 games!
Every team in the league lost at least 2 of their seven matches.

Next Weeks Semi-Finals
Salemites (1) v St. Pierre (4)
Pilgrims (2) v Griffins (3)

Other Match
Cobo (5) v Optimists (6)
(Winners play Jazz Hats)

Feeder Team
Jazz Hats (7)

If it is rained off then the week after will be

Final
Salemites v Pilgrims

3rd/4th
Griffins v St. Pierre

5th/6th
Cobo v Optimists

Feeder Team
Jazz Hats

Make sure you get the guys involved in your set up.
I keep saying it every week but it really is important that you hang onto the players by playing them in your senior teams when they are ready to do so.
If you want to chat about any of the players give me a shout.

If you want to send out an update to the players then please feel free to use the attached documents.
You can play around with the averages to get the other teams off so it’s just your team your sending out.

See you next Thursday
